From early childhood Marcy's approach was always spirited. She was first introduced to the physical aspects of Yoga when she began practicing gymnastics at age 6. As a teen, she explored more spiritual and mystical modalities, studying with various healers and mentors, drawing inspiration from books written by Carolyn Myss, Ph. D. Louise Hay and Deepak Chopra. Marcy studied the subtle energy centers (chakra), their psychological components and the various parts of the body that would be affected by blocked or repressed emotion. She learned to apply these metaphysical conceptions directly to her life and began to evolve as she explored the more mystical realms of spirituality.
Naturally drawn to the health and beauty industry, Marcy worked at a Day Spa as a Spa Coordinator where she became interested in the field of massage therapy. Motivated by gaining a better understanding of human anatomy and physiology, she worked in this capacity for 4 years then decided to expand her opportunities by enrolling in Capri Institute, working toward her NJ State Skin Care License. Upon completion of the course, Marcy established Earthtones Holistic Products and Service, LLC. As an Esthetician she offered skin care treatments and custom blended aromatherapy and herbal remedies for clients, family and friends. At this time she also worked as a Skin Care Specialist at Ocean Place Resort and Spa, where she studied skin care formulations and the healing benefits of seawater, seaweed, herbs and essential oils in products such as Decleor, Phytomer and Jurlique. Her dedication to this craft eventually led her to become the Manager of the Skin Care Department of an upscale spa in Pt Pleasant, NJ. Shortly thereafter she was recruited by a top skin care company as an educator, training estheticians at day spas in NY, NJ and CT. She ultimately turned her focus inward, choosing motherhood instead.
When her daughter, Isabella, was born in November 2005, Marcy decided to leave corporate life behind and concentrate on her family and the growth of her own business, Earthtones Holistic Products and Services, LLC. She hired several therapists and by the summer of 2006, things were in full swing. Home Spa Parties dominated the business for Marcy and her crew with massage and skin care on the Spa Party menu complimented by her own all natural Personal Care line.
Throughout her pregnancy Marcy developed a strong Yoga practice and established a healthy, organic lifestyle. In June 2007 she took a group Yoga class that would inspire her to explore other modalities of self healing. Feeling empowered she completed her first Yoga teacher training with John Diminico and immersed herself in the anatomy of the poses and philosophy of the lifestyle. Through a passionate committment to her practice as a Yoga Instructor at Fitness for Women, Studio V and Om Baby and World Arts Studio, her understanding of the physical application has deepened as well as her appreciation for the science and intelligence of the body. Eventually, balancing the asanas or physical practice of Yoga with a committment to her spiritual and emotional journey has become the foundation of her practice.
In November 2007, Marcy went on to win a scholarship from the American Institute of Holistic Health and Wellness earning her credentials as a Board Certified Holistic Psychology Practitioner using guided imagery and meditation to help those suffering from anxiety, depression and general stress.
Inspired by love and wanting to be a part of something pure and beautiful, Marcy became an Ordained Interfaith Minister in Spring 2009 in order to officiate weddings, commitment ceremonies and baby namings.
2009 was a year of growth and expansion for Marcy. In June she completed AAAI/ISMA Yoga II Teacher Certification then went on to White Lotus Foundation 200 hour Yoga Teacher Certification course in Santa Barbara studying The Flow Series with Ganga White, Tracy Rich, Sven Holcomb and Kent Bond.
Marcy's work continues to evolve and is deeply influenced by many great traditions. A uniquely modern yogini she is both present to the challenging realities of contemporary life and inspired by the great mystical teachings. She approaches life with a willingness to learn and grow, dedicated to helping others find balance to enhance their lives.
